It’s a Geek get-together to help out needy computer users!
Non-GUI screens do not scare these geeks!
and hardware upgrades are no sweat!
Multitasking? No problemo!
A room full of computers that needed hardware and software upgrades were joined with a group of computer geeks to form the first meeting of  the Fort Collins concept of “Geeks for Good” at the ELTC.  It was more fun than a barrel of Cheetos® !
What are we gonna do now that the expansion of Timnath has eroded our little bastion of outsider art known as The Swetsville Zoo? Remember that place? We reported on it here, and here, and even here! The place is sort of still there, but it’s in disrepair! Even the drunk drivers that run into the dinosaur advertisement near the intersection of Harmony and Route 25 have had little affect.
There is an “emporium” of sorts
It’s in Old Town
Stuff is welded together
with several organic elements
It’s rather fantastic!
There’s this guy named Les who has this weird little place. It’s the place you just have to see to believe! These pictures do not do it justice. Trust me. If you come and visit us, we will take you there!
There was a benefit to help Ugandan school children
Bloco em Foco provided the entertainment
There was a rumor that the agogo player went wild during his solo!
What a great event! I don’t remember seeing any advertisements for this benefit, but nearly 100 people came to Joe’s to donate money to 360: Help Girl’s Education Come Full Circle.
It seemed  I banged the heck out of it at Brasileirinho while playing with Bloco em FoCo and Marcus Santos last month. One of the bells came loose so I welded it back; Now it’s as good as new.  The neck strap also broke so I have to replace that soon! I think we have a gig on the 22nd in Old Town.
Thanks to Duncan Madog for making the short video and posting it on Youtube; What a smart dog!
It’s great to poke fun at?
Native! The Musical at the Nonesuch theater
There really is something about Greeley. I noticed it in my first post about the town titled: Pray for Greeley. Â And many other folks around town know that there is something about Greeley such that our local talent created a little musical that only NoCo’s would love. Â Greeley gets no respect. The Chicago suburbs had Berwyn and now we have Greeley.
Anyhow, it was a wonderful comedy about native Coloradans and us newcomers. We even got to meet Harper, the little girl featured in the poster.
I’m probably going to bike over to Greeley in the next few months in preparation for the RAGBRAI and meet some people there and get another perspective about the town. — I just won’t tell them I’m from Fort Collins!
At the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital:
Dog Head MRI
The CSU Animal Clinic is just down the road a bit. I pass it often on the Mason Trail whenever I’m riding into Old Town. They just had their annual open house so I came over to take a peek!
2nd Year Vet Student Becky giving the tour
Camel MRI
Doggie Xray
Dog? Â Operation
Wow, somebody’s got a dog that looks like a freaking hyena! Hyenas are more related to the family Herpestidae (mongooses and meerkats) than the family of dogs (Canidae).
Animal dietary kitchen
Duncan Madog can’t just walk into the kitchen!
Student Activities Booths
There are so many vet hospitals in town! Now I know why!
Horse Bones
Dog Head
Horse Head
They had a number of activities at the open house including:

a petting zoo
balloon animals
police dog demos

(We’re going to take Duncan Madog to the BVKC remedial sheep-herding trials in August to see what he can do! Pembroke Corgis are supposed to be natural sheep herding dogs, don’t cha’ know?)
