It’s the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
and it’s located in Boulder, Colorado. It’s a scientific agency of the US Department of Commerce that focuses on conditions of the oceans and the atmosphere.

Apparently they are on top of that as well. They keep the official U.S. Time Atomic Clock in the same building.

Weather satellite
The first weather satellite was the Vanguard 2 launched on Feb. 17, 1959. It didn’t work very well, but it was FIRST!

The first sun spots were observed by Chinese astronomer Gan De about 364 BC. Remember that Joy’s Law states that “No matter who you are, most of the smartest people work for someone else,” from Bill Joy, co-founder of Sun Microsystems; no, wait, I mean the law that states that active sunspot regions tend to be “tilted” with the leading spot closer to the equator than the following spots.
