Go where the snow is:
Well the sign says there is 48 inches of old snow
…And by noon there was about 2 to 3 inches added on top at the Snowy Range Ski Area. It’s another ski weekend!
No lift lines here!
You live in Colorado to ski, but today we are not in Colorado. The Snowy Range is in the state of Wyoming and although the ski runs aren’t as long as they are at Copper, on the weekdays you can ski down some runs and not see any other skier. This place might have more people on the weekend but it’s nice to get to this little gem of a mountain that’s only an hour and a half from FOCO. Going North means you don’t have to drive on I-70, just take 287 to Laramie and then West on 130 to Centennial. Nice!

They were going and asked if wanted to come. My left ankle was still sore from a sprain I managed to get while I was out in the back yard watering the trees (sigh!) but with the left ski boot tightened just enough to allow some blood circulation, I was OK to hit the slopes.
M.E. was there too!
There were a few snow boarders out but I bet there were more lift operators than skiers. Having been in Colorado for 4.5 years, it has finally dawned on me that I can and should go skiing once in a while. Now that others know that I can do this activity (if minimally at best) it looks like 2013 will be downhill for the rest of the season.
