Bloco en Foco featuring Marcus Santos!
Yet again Fort Collins’ premier mobile percussion ensemble ‘Bloco em Foco’ is returning to the Rodizio Grill for another unforgettable performance. Of course New Belgium’s Tour de Fat is on the same day but if you get out early on the Fat tour, you will have plenty of time to party at Rodizio’s.
One Bubba Drumming
The building has been sold! We will miss this place. It was close to home! The owner of the Tap Room was our real estate agent and one of the first persons we met in Fort Collins.
Drummers came for the last time this Wednesday night
and dancers too
And Bubbas drumming
Special thanks to Satori Dance for making the last performance special
So, where we gonna drum now?
It’s the Women’s soccer team called The Colorado Force!
The Colorado Woman’s Team
Soccer is interesting this month; It’s probably because there’s the 2010 FIFI World Cup in South Africa. Brazil is looking good! So is Korea, Germany and Slovenia.
Lucky #13
Here’s the team mascot. It was a great evening for foot-ball! A fairly good crowd came even though it looked like there were tornadoes nearby (there were!). Too bad there was no half-time entertainment.
Oh, wait!
Bloco em Foco was there!
It was an Autism Society Benefit:

…and Bloco em FoCo !
The Mobile Percussion Ensemble of Fort Collins cranked up the audience at Avo’s patio last Sunday! Our next gig is at Maya Cove in time for the World Cup opening party in June!
At Rosemary’s farm:
A good day for Bloco practice and campfire afterwards
and teaching new band members!
The city will have it’s own Cinco Fiesta this weekend with a carnival and games added (It’s NEW this year!). Bloco’s got a gig this Friday, so with that it looks like the weekend is booked! Adiós!
Yep, I got the old welder out today:
The Magic Agogo Belt needed repair
It seemed I banged the heck out of it at Brasileirinho while playing with Bloco em FoCo and Marcus Santos last month. One of the bells came loose so I welded it back; Now it’s as good as new. The neck strap also broke so I have to replace that soon! I think we have a gig on the 22nd in Old Town.
Thanks to Duncan Madog for making the short video and posting it on Youtube; What a smart dog!
In Wyoming again:
At the University of Wyoming
It was a weekend of Brazilian music with workshops with Marcus Santos and even more dance instruction from Gisele Dias. So far it seems that there are many more supporters of this kind of music than in Colorado. Why is that?
With Gisele Dias
Here Gisele is doing some dancing. Some members of Fort Collins’ premier samba band Bloco em FoCo did some dancing of their own behind the bar.
And Patrick Doran
There was this picture in the hallway at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center that looked pretty cool. It was thought to be a picture of Patrick Doran, one of the first hotel owners in the area.
